Dr. Golding brings with him an impressive academic background and extensive experience in education leadership in top independent schools in the UK, as well as in leading teacher training in the UK.

Dr. Golding completed his BA, MSc and Ph.D. at the University of Oxford and his PGCE teacher training at the University of Cambridge. Prior to his appointment at Brighton College Vietnam, he served as the Head of Geography and Head of Academic Electives at Dulwich College, UK, one of London’s premier schools. He is a firm believer in the importance of academic excellence and innovative teaching approaches that prepare pupils for 21st century careers and life. His contributions to education have seen him awarded the prestigious Royal Geographical Society Ordnance Survey Award in 2024.

Dr. Golding also brings valuable experience in teacher training, having lectured on and co-led the PGCE Geography course at King’s College London, a top teacher training provider, for the past three years. At Brighton College Vietnam, he plans to share his expertise in curriculum design, enquiry-based teaching, and assessment strategies to support our teachers’ professional development. His goal is to blend the best of British education with our mission to nurture well-rounded, balanced individuals ready to thrive in the modern world.

Dr. Golding was drawn to Brighton College Vietnam by our ethos of nurturing pupils to become the first-class versions of themselves and our vibrant community of teachers and pupils. Speaking about his commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion, he explained, “We are all at our best when we can be the best version of ourselves”. He believes our school has incredible potential to lead academically and become a pioneering role model in the region, fostering innovation and excellence alongside inclusivity and community.

Dr. Golding’s educational philosophy is that a school is created primarily by its pupils. He shared, “There is no greater privilege than to see children flourishing.” He aims to foster an environment where children can thrive in all aspects of their development – academically, physically, and emotionally.

At Brighton College Vietnam, he is looking forward to developing pupil-led initiatives, leadership opportunities, and courses that go beyond traditional curricula that prepare pupils fully for their choice of university. With his extensive experience in university admissions for the University of Oxford, he is particularly looking forward to the development of the Upper School which will prepare pupils for top universities across the world, including Oxford and Cambridge in the UK.

We are thrilled about the academic leadership and passion for education that Dr. Golding will bring to our community, and we are excited to welcome him on board this coming August!
