FOR THE ACADEMIC YEAR 2023 – 2024

I. Admission priority order

The order of admission priority is applied at Brighton College Vietnam (BCVN) campus with regards to available slots at the time of admission and prioritised in the following order:
1. Pupils who are children of officials, teachers and staff working at BCVN;
2. Pupils who are children of Vinhomes household residents;
3. Pupils who are children of officials, teachers and employees of Vingroup companies;
4. Pupils who are studying at Brighton College system;
5. Pupils who belong to other specified subjects.

II. Age of enrolment

In the school year 2023-2024, Brighton College Vietnam organises the enrolment of pupils of the age corresponding to each level of education as follows:
Pupils entering year 1: Born in 2018.
Pupils enrolling in years 2 to 10: according to their current grade level to transfer to ensure that pupils continue their study path according to their birth year and capability.
Note: For pupils who are studying in the 12-year system, pupils enter the school and the class corresponds to the age of the 13-year system (for example, pupils who complete grade 1 will enter Year 3).

III. Regulations on class capacity

Brighton College Vietnam sets limit standards on the number of pupils in a class as follows:

  • Year 1 – Year 2: 20 pupils / class
  • Year 3 – Year 13: 24 pupils / class

Under special circumstances, the number of pupils may be increased or decreased by 10%.

IV. Admission registration conditions

  • Applicants must complete the previous year’s academic programme before admission or complete the first semester programme for those entering in the second semester.
  • The student should not have an infectious disease or a dangerous congenital disease. The school’s current support systems and facilities are unable to accommodate pupils with special needs.

V. Admissions process

Step 1: Enrol your child at Parent.brightoncollege.edu.vn.
Step 2: The school admits pupils who are prioritised and meet the admission conditions.
Step 3: Pupils take the entrance exam.
Step 4: Parents complete the admission procedures for pupils who have passed the entrance exam.
Step 5: Pupils enter officially as notified by the school.

VI. Entrance exam

All new pupils must pass the entrance exam organised by the school.

  • For Year 1 pupils: Teachers engage in direct communication and interaction with pupils through chat activities, age-appropriate learning games, and discussions with pupils’ parents and/ guardians.
  • For Year 2 and above pupils: Pupils will take English language proficiency tests (except for Year 2 pupils), Logical Thinking and participate in face-to-face interviews with the school Board of Education. On the same day, interviews with pupils’ parents and/or guardians will also take place.

VII. Admission documents

Primary School Graduation Certificate (original copy, for pupils entering from Year 7 to Year 10).

Secondary school diploma or provisional Secondary school graduation certificate for pupils in Years 11 to 13 (original copy).

For Vietnamese pupils returning home and foreign pupils:

  • For pupils enrolled up to Year 10: Academic records or certificates of previous classes (originals and notarized Vietnamese translations), along with the school’s confirmation of transfer to higher grades.
  • For pupils entering Year 11 to Year 13: Secondary school diploma or certificate equivalent to a Vietnamese secondary school diploma (original and notarized Vietnamese translation).

5 School transfer request letter with the confirmation of the current school and the school to transfer to for pupils applying for all grades, except for cases that will undergo the screening process at the beginning of each education stage (original copy) for Vietnamese pupils (excluding those attending international schools). x
6 For Vietnamese pupils:

School transfer recommendation letter for Secondary and High school pupils, verified by (original copy):
– The Principal at the current school (for all pupils).
– The Head of the Local Department of Education and Training (for secondary school pupils transferred from another province/ city) or the Director of the Local Department of Education and Training (for high school pupils transferred from another province/city).
– Have a Certificate of Admission to Grade 10 High School (for high school pupils transferring from another province/city).

For Vietnamese pupils returning home and foreign pupils:

School referral letter from the Director of the Local Department of Education and Training (for high school pupils), or from the Head of the Local Department of Education and Training (for secondary school pupils).

7 01 general health examination certificate of the student certified by a doctor and sealed by an authorised health facility within 01 month (soft copy).
Health certificate (issued by an authorised health facility of the sending country before coming to Vietnam for no more than 6 months) for foreign pupils.		 x
8 Copy of valid compulsory health insurance card and student’s compulsory health insurance number and identification number (soft copy, for pupils in Year 2 and above). x
9 01 photo size 4×6 cm of the student’s biological father (soft copy). x
10 01 photo size 4×6 cm of the student’s biological mother (soft copy). x
11 01 photo size 4×6 cm of the guardian registering to pick up pupils at the school (soft copy, for pupils in Year 1, Year 2). x
12 For foreign pupils: 01 notarised copy of parent’s passport (hard copy), along with 01 copy of temporary residence card (soft copy). x
13 Other required documents (depending on the time of admission). x
