At Brighton College Vietnam, we understand that teenage wellbeing is best supported when parents and schools work hand in hand. During a recent workshop, Ms Ann Jackson – Deputy Head (Pastoral Care), Senior School – and our school psychologists guided Senior School parents through practical approaches to support their children’s emotional development and deepen their understanding of adolescent mental health.
Here are some of the core insights shared during the session:
- Normalising conversations about mental health with your teenager – speak openly and regularly with your child to help reduce stigma and build trust.
- Strong communication between school and family is essential to providing consistent, meaningful support.
- Early intervention is key – the sooner we intervene, the better we can support young people.
- You are part of the parenting A-team. Never underestimate the role you play. Working together with the school can make a real difference.
Let’s keep building a safe, healthy, and supportive environment for all our pupils!
