Celebrating Heritage and Unity: Highlights from this week’s Assembly

This week’s assembly was a meaningful journey through Vietnam’s history, connecting the sacred origins of the nation with its path toward unity and peace. Through narration, dance, music and visual storytelling, pupils brought to life the legend of Lạc Long Quân and Âu Cơ, reminding us that Vietnamese people share a common root as “descendants of Dragon and Fairy”.

The assembly then guided the audience from these early beginnings to the significant milestone of Reunification Day, highlighting the resilience, sacrifices and determination that led to the nation’s independence in 1975. Performances from dancers and the school choir added emotional depth, while the interactive quiz engaged pupils in reflecting on key historical values.

The assembly encouraged us to appreciate peace, unity and cultural identity. It also reminded the younger generation of their role in carrying forward these values.
