We are excited to announce that Mrs. Ann Jackson will be joining Brighton College Vietnam as the Deputy Head (Pastoral) of the Senior School for the 2024-2025 academic year! With over 30 years of experience in education, pastoral care has been the cornerstone of Mrs. Jackson’s career. She comes to us from Dauntsey’s School, a prestigious independent boarding school in the UK, where she has spent the past 22 years. During her time there, she has distinguished herself in a range of positions, and for the past 7 years, she has held the role of Deputy Head of Pastoral, fostering a nurturing environment focused on the well-being of pupils.
Mrs. Jackson believes passionately in the importance of pastoral care, sharing, “The measure of an outstanding school is its ability to create a community that places as much emphasis on personal development and well-being as it does on academic success. Pupil well-being must be at the heart and foundation of everything that we do.” At Brighton College Vietnam, she aims to cultivate a culture where mental health is openly addressed, and where everyone — pupils and staff alike — feels properly supported and understood.
Her vision includes a whole-school approach to mental health and well-being, providing comprehensive staff training to ensure they are well-equipped to support pupils, strengthening open communication and resource accessibility for parents, and enhancing opportunities for pupil leadership and mentoring.
In addition to her academic expertise, Mrs. Jackson is deeply committed to community service. She has led numerous World Challenge expeditions, guiding 17- and 18-year-old pupils on transformative journeys to countries like Venezuela, Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia, and Morocco. These expeditions emphasise community work, ranging from environmental and building projects to horticulture, reflecting Mrs. Jackson’s dedication to positive societal impact.
