The doors have opened, and Brighton College Vietnam’s Sixth Form Centre is already coming to life, filled with pupils arriving and a vibrant sense of excitement about the future.
This dedicated, purpose-built space supports pupils through the two-year International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP), a time when independence grows, identities take shape, and aspirations become clearer. The space reflects that journey, offering a balance of calm reflection areas and dynamic collaborative zones.
“Much of the IB is built around self-directed learning,” explained Ms Rachel Duce, Director of Futures. “This Centre gives our pupils the space to take ownership of their goals. Whether they need a quiet moment to reflect or a lively conversation to spark ideas, it’s all here. That, to me, is just tremendous.”
“I’m really excited about having a space just for us,” shared Vi Khoi, a Year 11 pupil preparing to enter the Sixth Form. “Sometimes school life can feel so busy but here, we’ll have a quiet place to think, study, and just focus.”
Adding to the excitement, Dr Abigail Connor-Bourne, Teacher of Philosophy and TOK Coordinator, described the Sixth Form Centre as a place where learning and community thrive together: “You have a space that’s designed in a way that allows you to work independently or in groups and a beautiful view that connects you to the rest of the school. It’s a privilege to share this space with you.” She also shared her hopes for the journeys pupils will take: “I’m excited to see how your minds work in this space, how you explore new ideas, tackle new challenges, and come together as part of the community to really prosper. What a wonderful place to share that time in.”
The Sixth Form, typically for pupils aged 16 to 18, is when pupils undertake the two-year IB Diploma Programme – a pivotal stage that prepares them for university and life beyond school. Brighton College Vietnam’s Sixth Form Centre is more than a facility. It’s a promise: that each young person who walks through its doors is seen, supported, and empowered to shape a future they can be proud of.
