The world is a classroom filled with endless opportunities for discovery and growth. Our field trips give Prep pupils the chance to explore Vietnam’s rich cultural heritage, encounter new experiences, and learn hands-on lessons beyond textbooks. These memorable outings not only broaden their perspectives but also instil a deeper appreciation for history, art, and community. Here’s a look at the unique journeys each year group recently embarked on:
Year 1’s Traditional Arts Day
Our Year 1 pupils enjoyed an enriching day at Luy Lâu Folk Culture Center, experiencing the unique Vietnamese water puppet art – a national intangible cultural heritage that reflects the imagination and creativity of our ancestors. This traditional art form, deeply rooted in the life of northern Vietnamese rice farms, stands out among world puppet arts. Our little ones were captivated by the dancing puppets, traditional music, and beautiful Quan Ho folk songs.
Year 2’s Day at Chimi Farm
Our Year 2 pupils had a delightful day at Chimi Farm, surrounded by sunshine, fresh air, and the wonders of farm life. They enjoyed playing with friendly farm animals, learning about farm operations, and exploring the vibrant fields of oranges and potatoes. The pupils loved the hands-on experience of picking oranges and spending time outdoors in nature.
Year 3’s Climbing Adventure
Year 3 pupils took on an exciting climbing challenge, navigating bouldering walls and discovering new heights together. They had a fantastic time trying different routes, sharing plenty of laughs, and cheering each other on. It was a wonderful day of friendship, excitement, and small achievements – all while learning the basics of climbing. We’re thrilled to see them have such a great time and build cherished memories along the way!
Year 4’s Pottery Experience in Bat Trang
Year 4 embarked on an artistic journey to Bat Trang, diving into the rich cultural heritage of one of Vietnam’s most famous craft villages. The pupils had the unique opportunity to explore the beauty of traditional crafts, experiencing the art of pottery firsthand. They created their own handmade treasures, from beautiful stone paintings to intricate cups and flower vases, with each piece reflecting their creativity and excitement.
Year 5’s Insightful Visit to the Vietnamese Women’s Museum
Year 5 pupils visited the Vietnamese Women’s Museum, exploring the rich culture and vital role of Vietnamese women—brave and resilient throughout history, yet gentle and hardworking in daily life. The pupils learned about the journey of women from birth to adulthood, marriage, and motherhood across different ethnic groups, as well as touching stories of heroic Vietnamese mothers, highlighting their courage and silent sacrifices.
Year 6’s Cultural Discovery at the Vietnam Museum of Ethnology
