Recently, our Year 6-8 pupils showcased their creativity by crafting a stunning collection of bamboo tray masks and lanterns, illuminating our campus with the vibrant essence of Vietnamese culture. Bamboo masks are a cherished part of Vietnamese tradition, often featured in festivals like Tết Trung Thu, traditional folk performances, and even as decorations during Tết. These handmade masks, painted with vivid cultural symbols and mythical characters, represent joy, celebration, and a deep connection to Vietnamese heritage.
“The illustrations on the masks connect children to cultural symbols, fairy tale characters, and mythical figures. Through art, they gain a deeper appreciation for traditions while discovering their creative potential,” said Michael Cooper, our Head of Art.
