Our Pre-Prep & Prep School pupils are inquisitive learners. Our rich curriculum introduces them to creative and inspired teaching.
Our children in Years 1 to 6 are taught by passionate, highly-qualified primary teaching professionals. They learn traditional academic subjects such as: English language, English literature, maths, history, geography, science, and Personal, Social, Health and Economic Education (PSHEE). They also benefit from specialist lessons in music, Mandarin, French, art, PE, games and swimming. From Year 4 this expands to include lessons in Drama, Design & Technology and Home Economics.

Beyond the classroom
During Years 1 to 6 our children learn a great deal beyond the curriculum. Their lessons are enriched with trips, workshops and visits to inspire and encourage their engagement with the wider world. The combination of academic lessons, pastoral sessions, and a range of arts and sports lessons and activities ensure our children experience an extensive education.
Our Planet and Our Past
Brighton College adopts an integrated approach to the teaching of the humanities. This guides pupils through a coherent narrative of the past, providing them with an appreciation of how history shapes the world today. Our approach weaves together history, philosophy, geography and religion to enable pupils to link these subjects together in a critically informed way.
Home Economics And Lifetime Health (HEALTH)
Once upon a time โhome economicsโ simply meant learning how to julienne carrots. Our brand new, bespoke HEALTH curriculum goes far beyond this traditional approach. Pupils learn about home economics and life-long health through developing practical skills in six key areas: culinary, growth, nutrition, outreach, textiles and wellbeing.
