At Brighton College Vietnam, we recognise the vital role music plays in fostering creativity and self-expression. Our approach is to encourage pupils to explore their talents, nurturing their growth with curiosity and confidence. We are incredibly proud of our talented pupils, An Khánh (Year 10), Tue Lam (Year 8), and Vincent Nguyen (Year 6), who have embodied these values and shone brightly at recent music festivals.
An Khánh secured an impressive Top 2 in the Youth Pop Voice category at the 11th Hong Kong International Music Festival 2024, delivering a stunning performance of “Flashlight” by Jessie J.
“I’ve had the chance to meet teachers who always encourage my passion for music and impart valuable knowledge, like Mr. Sơn and Mr. Gleeson. Mr. Sơn has taught me a lot about hand positioning and playing techniques. Mr. Gleeson, with his expertise in piano and extensive experience in vocals, often helps me select pieces for performances, ensuring that I can showcase my strengths. I feel truly grateful to have met such dedicated teachers at Brighton College Vietnam in my life.” – An Khanh.
At the Yoshine Music Festival 2024, both Tue Lam and Vincent Nguyen earned prizes in Piano and Singing, showcasing their talents and personal growth.
“At school, I had the opportunity to participate in performances before hundreds of audience members, and gradually, I overcame my fear of standing in front of a crowd.” – Vincent Nguyen.
“In my first year at the school, there were so many artistic activities, and I participated in nearly all of them. Through these experiences, I built the confidence to pursue my passion for music on larger stages.” – Tue Lam.
The achievements are not only a testament to their hard work, passion, and dedication to music but also to their journey of personal growth. The countless hours of practice and the courage to perform on a grand stage reflect more than just a win; they embody the spirit of Brighton College – where pupils are encouraged to become the best versions of themselves, day by day.
