In today’s English class at Brighton College Vietnam, Year 8 pupils embarked on a creative journey to enhance their descriptive writing and communication skills. The challenge: describe a stunning alpine landscape using only words, helping their partners visualize the scene vividly.

This engaging activity encouraged pupils to think like storytellers, focusing on structuring their descriptions from broad panoramas to intricate details. By carefully selecting words and organizing their thoughts, pupils not only enriched their vocabulary but also developed a deeper understanding of effective communication. 

This exercise not only hones pupils’ descriptive and visualization skills—key components of creative writing—but also enhances their critical thinking, analytical abilities, and confidence in both public speaking and writing.
