Adventures in Learning: Inspiring Curiosity, Kindness, and Confidence

Grounded in our core values of Curiosity, Kindness, and Confidence, Brighton College Vietnam enhances the educational experiences of our Prep School pupils through a broad array of learning trips. Here, our young learners actively interact with their surroundings, exploring, observing, and forging connections with the natural world, all while nurturing their inner resilience in the face of challenges.

From the youngest children in Year 1 and Year 2 to the older pupils in Year 5 and Year 6, each year group participated in unique quests to uncover the wonders of our world and the diverse cultures across Vietnam, all while enjoying themselves to the fullest. While Year 5 – 6 visited Thai Nguyen and Year 3 – 4 ventured to Lam Son in their overnight residential trips, Year 2 and Year 1 explored closer locations such as Chimi Farm and VinKE Aquarium, each destination brimming with excitement.

Year 5 and 6 pupils explored the traditions of the Tay people in Thai Nguyen

Packing the famous Thai Nguyen green tea with their own hands, exploring the world of healing herbs at a traditional apothecary, crafting beautiful baskets out of bamboo, and building miniature stilt houses just like the ones the Tay people live in. These are just some of the activities our Year 5 and 6 pupils got up to last week on their journey to the heart of Thai Nguyen province, where they visited the Thai Hai Ecological Village to dive into the colorful world of Tay culture. On this adventure, our curious explorers learned about ancient traditions that have been kept alive for hundreds of years, sparking an appreciation and love for the rich culture found within Vietnam.

Year 3 and Year 4 pupils explore the sustainable impact of organic gardening in Lam Son

Our young learners in Year 3 and 4 were the first to go on a nature-filled expedition in Lam Son, focusing on the vital themes of sustainability and environmental stewardship. With kindness as a cornerstone of our values, we hope to nurture in our pupils a deep appreciation for the Earth’s gifts and the importance of caring for our planet for future generations. Under the gentle guidance of local farmers, our pupils delved into the eco-friendly practices of organic gardening. Through hands-on activities, they gained invaluable insights into the importance of natural processes in preserving soil health and biodiversity. Beyond the practical skills acquired, these residential trips also serve as a great platform for our young pupils to foster essential life skills and independence.

A day full of delight as Year 2 pupils journeyed to Chimi Farm for an unforgettable outing

While our older pupils enjoyed their Residential Trips Week, our Year 2 pupils had their own fantastic adventure at Chimi Farm, where they dove into the enchanting world of agriculture! They had a delightful time meeting adorable sheep and friendly goats while learning all about how strawberries and potatoes grow from farm to table. They also got to sample juicy fruits straight from the vine, which taste even sweeter when they are freshly picked!
