Our Year 9 pupils in Business class embarked on an exciting venture known as the 300,000 VND Challenge. Their mission was to create a profitable endeavour from a modest investment, with all earnings donated to charity.
Divided into four groups, the pupils put their entrepreneurial skills to the test, transforming 300,000 VND into bustling stalls selling all kinds of food and drinks from slushies, fruit tea, pastries and noodles. The school halls were alive with activity as the groups attracted a large crowd of eager customers.
One pupil shared: “This business challenge was one of the hardest challenges I have faced in Brighton College Vietnam. I underestimated the sheer time and efforts require to run an effective business. My favourite part of the challenge included developing our product ideas and turning them into reality, a very fulfilling process which I found very enjoyable.
Each group had their unique approach, showcasing a blend of creativity and business acumen. In the end, the four groups collectively generated six times their initial budget through this challenge, and they will donate the entire amount to charity. This challenge was an exciting yet practical lesson in business and enterprise. The pupils learned firsthand about budgeting, marketing, and customer service. Their efforts demonstrated their potential as budding entrepreneurs and highlighted the power of innovation and teamwork.
