Year 2 pupils from Brighton College Vietnam have recently embarked on an enriching educational trip to I Museum in Hanoi, where they engaged in a range of interactive art activities designed to foster creativity and enhance their appreciation of the arts.

During the visit, pupils explored a variety of multi-sensory art installations and participated in hands-on experiences, including the creation of vibrant animal-themed artworks using 3D mapping techniques.

One of the highlights of the trip was an immersive experience of Vincent van Gogh’s iconic ‘Starry Night’, brought to life through a captivating blend of sound and light. Pupils are also delighted in exploring the whimsical world of mirrored reflections and shimmering lights, adding an element of wonder to their learning journey.

Ms. Heather Bowen, Phonics Lead and Teacher of Year 2, reflected on the educational value of the trip: “The primary purpose of this trip was to enhance our pupils’ understanding and appreciation of art and media within a vibrant, immersive environment. The response from pupils has been overwhelmingly positive. This trip not only provided them with knowledge but also sparked a lasting interest in the arts.”

The museum visit was part of the school’s broader commitment to providing cross-curricular learning experiences that extend beyond the classroom. By engaging with art in an interactive and meaningful way, pupils were able to develop key skills in creativity and critical thinking – central tenets of the National Curriculum, she said.

This memorable outing served as a powerful reminder of the importance of experiential learning in shaping a well-rounded education.
