Brighton College Vietnam gathered last week for its much-anticipated annual Prize Giving Ceremony, a heartfelt celebration of not only academic excellence but also the values that define the school community.
In a warm and reflective address, Mrs Carly Barber, Head of College, recognised that while trophies and citations marked notable milestones, the true spirit of the event lay in acknowledging “the quiet resilience, the quiet kindness, and the quieter still perseverance” shown by pupils throughout the year.
“Prize Giving is not about perfection. It is about progress,” Mrs Barber said. “It’s about recognising the effort behind achievement, the character behind success, and the spark of curiosity, often lit by a teacher, often sustained by a friend, that keeps our pupils striving to be the best version of themselves.”
“To be invited here today is no small thing,” the Head concluded. “Each of you has been recognised, not simply for the grade or the goal, but for the effort, the attitude, and the example you’ve set for others.”
The event served as a proud moment for the entire school community, celebrating not only what has been achieved, but also the kind of people pupils are becoming.
