Residential Trip | Out to Sea: Year 7 & 8 Ocean Awareness Trip

Our Year 7 and 8 pupils recently set sail for Cat Ba Island for an unforgettable Marine Conservation and Island Adventure. From rock climbing and kayaking through the breathtaking karst landscape of Lan Ha Bay, journeyed by boat to the remote Viet Hai Village, explored limestone caves, and connected with a way of life far removed from the city. They also rolled up their sleeves for a National Park beach clean – reflecting on marine debris, ocean health, and the real impact of our everyday choices on the world’s oceans.

And then came the ultimate team challenge – the Island Raft Escape. Stranded on a remote island with only raw materials and each other, pupils had to negotiate, design, build and paddle their way.

Our pupils left with a deeper sense of responsibility, resilience, and connection – to each other, and to the ocean.
