Pupil-led Assemblies: Year 3B’s Journey Through the World of Rivers

At Brighton College Vietnam, our pupils are encouraged to step up and shine through meaningful, pupil-led initiatives. One such opportunity is our Prep School assemblies, where pupils take the lead expressing their ideas, sharing learning journeys, and building the confidence to speak with clarity and pride. We invite you to join us in celebrating the wonderful efforts of Class 3B as they took the spotlight with a creative and thoughtful assembly after days of preparation.

“Each class has presented an assembly about their learning this term, and this week it was 3B’s turn,” shared Ms Helen Morris, Teacher of Year 3. “We chose to focus on our spring term topic of rivers. The pupils learned a poem, with each child performing a line and creating freeze-frame scenes to bring the verses to life.”

The assembly continued with fascinating facts about rivers around the world, demonstrating the pupils’ curiosity and depth of understanding. They then proudly showcased their illuminated fish sculptures – an artistic highlight from their recent Art lessons.

In English, the class had also been working on recipe writing, and several pupils shared their imaginative culinary creations with the audience. The assembly concluded on a joyful note with a lively, fish-themed song that had everyone smiling.

“This opportunity to celebrate their learning demonstrates their growing confidence in speaking loudly and clearly in English, alongside exciting progress in their performance skills,” Ms Morris added.

These assemblies are meaningful opportunities for pupils to take ownership of their learning, grow in confidence, and inspire their peers. We are immensely proud of our young pupils and look forward to many more uplifting moments from our Prep School in the weeks to come.
