“Hello everyone, welcome to our podcast Business Insights, where we break down difficult economic concepts into simple and easy-to-understand explanations.” This introduction to the podcast project produced by our Year 9 pupils perfectly captures the essence of their work in business class.

In this project, our Year 9 pupils used the power of podcasts to simplify complex economic topics. Their podcasts covered concepts like inflation, exchange rates, and interest rates, helping listeners understand how these issues impact businesses.

The pupils conducted thorough research, wrote engaging scripts, and recorded insightful podcast episodes that showcase their growing understanding of the business world.

“The purpose of the podcasts was to encourage pupils to think about the impact of economic events and the state of an economy on firms that they are familiar with. It will also help their understanding for if/when they study Business IGCSE and Business Management or Economics at IB level,” Mr. Dale Whitehead, Head of KS4 and Head of Business and Economics said. 

This project not only provided the pupils with a platform to explore real-world economics but also helped them develop essential skills in research, data analysis, information selection and communicating their findings in an informative and mature manner.
