• Each country looks for something a little different: While all universities begin with academic performance, their priorities differ. Australia and China focus on grades and awards; the UK looks at interviews and personal statements with super-curriculars; Singapore and Hong Kong favour well-rounded profiles with leadership and service; and in the U.S., it’s about balance: strong academics, essays, recommendations – and, authenticity and fit.

• Personal qualities matter: Top universities want to know you’re more than your marks. Intellectual curiosity, resilience, self-motivation, and a genuine love of learning – these are the traits that show you’re ready to contribute to life on campus.
• Learning goes beyond the classroom: Pupils are encouraged to take part in webinars, taster lectures, summer courses, and university reading lists. These experiences deepen their understanding of chosen subjects and offer a real insight into university learning environments.
