A recent pupil-led assembly by our 5B class took a deep dive into the world of science and poetry, exploring the influence of great thinkers and the courage it takes to stand up for what we believe in.
With humour and creativity, the narrators guided the audience on a journey through scientific discoveries, social movements, and artistic expression.
From the philosophical insights of Aristotle to the astronomical revelations of Copernicus, and the fearless determination of the Suffragettes, the pupils explored how remarkable individuals throughout history have challenged the norm to spark meaningful change.
The assembly also celebrated the contributions of inspiring women and honoured the distinctive artistic vision of creators like Yayoi Kusama, reminding us that innovation can take many forms.
Beyond science and history, our pupils also explored the beauty of poetry. Their adapted version of Country Roads, ending with the heartfelt line, “Take me home, to a place I belong, Brighton College Vietnam,” reinforcing the idea that school is more than just a place to learn, it’s a home and a community where we grow, explore, and belong, said Ms. Helena Rogers, Year 5 teacher.
