From “Why?” to “Wow!” – A Week of Discovery
This week, the Prep School has been alive with the spirit of inquiry as pupils embraced the British Science Week under the theme “Curiosity: What’s Your Question?” The focus has been on empowering our children to explore, investigate, and—most importantly—interrogate the world around them.
At Brighton College Vietnam, nurturing curiosity is the core of learning. Pupils are encouraged to think critically, pose thoughtful questions, and test their hypotheses just like seasoned scientists. Throughout the week, the Prep School foyer became a true hub of discovery, offering a range of hands-on challenges during break times.Whether experimenting with magnets, engineering paper helicopters, or investigating the buoyancy of weighted boats, students returned to the stations with tireless enthusiasm. It was inspiring to witness them pivoting their approaches, observing outcomes, and debating their findings with peers.
The true highlight, however, has been the calibre of questions our pupils are asking. Their creativity and boldness remind us that all great scientific breakthroughs begin with a single, powerful word: “Why?” These moments capture the essence of Science Week—where a simple question opens the door to a lifetime of learning.
