Key Stage 4
Welcome to Key Stage 4
Years 10 and 11 are a pivotal stage in each pupil’s educational journey. With the support of dedicated teachers, pupils grow in independence, develop critical thinking skills, and build the foundations for success in the IB Diploma Programme.
Throughout Key Stage 4, pupils engage in a wide range of enriching academic and co-curricular opportunities – from challenging IGCSE courses to events, competitions, and activities that promote global citizenship and personal growth.
Comprehensive pastoral care – including guidance from tutors, our Director of Futures, and wellbeing programmes – ensures that pupils feel supported both academically and emotionally. This is a time of exciting progress, and we look forward to seeing every pupil thrive.

IGCSE
In Years 10 and 11, pupils follow the IGCSE curriculum, studying English, Mathematics, and Science alongside additional subjects. Pupils can choose three electives from options like Business Studies, Computer Science, Geography, History, World Languages, Art, Music, Design Technology, Drama, and PE in Year 10, while in Year 11, they select four.

An Innovative Curriculum
Key Stage 4 is when pupils have the opportunity to focus on the things they enjoy most, to develop deep levels of skill and understanding, and to take steps towards fulfilling their ambitions in life. Pupils take more responsibility for their progress, and greater independence will be encouraged as they build the foundations for their future study.
Each lesson provides support for learning, and pupils are guided by dedicated form tutors and specialist teachers. IGCSE subjects are chosen during Year 10, in conjunction with parents and based on pupils’ passions and abilities.
