Kindness and Healthy Living: A Year 5 Charity Project
During their HEALTH (Home Economics and Lifetime Health) lessons, Year 5C Polaris took on the exciting challenge of researching, designing, and creating their very own healthy drinks. Pupils explored the importance of balanced nutrition and carefully selected ingredients based on their own ideas, thinking carefully about both flavour and health benefits.
Today, their ideas came to life as they prepared their delicious “Feel Good Juices” and proudly presented their creative branding designs. From colourful logos and catchy product names to thoughtfully chosen recipes, every detail reflected the pupils’ imagination, collaboration, and growing understanding of healthy living.
To support Mental Health Week activities taking place across the school, Year 5 pupils sold their “Feel Good Juices” to raise money for Capacity Vietnam, a charity dedicated to transforming mental health care across Vietnam through compassionate, evidence-based treatment and community support for every individual’s journey to wellness. By combining entrepreneurship with kindness and community spirit, pupils were able to connect their classroom learning to a meaningful cause, helping to promote well-being both within and beyond the school community.
The project also allowed pupils to develop important real-world skills, including teamwork, communication, creativity, and problem-solving. We are incredibly proud of the enthusiasm, compassion, and confidence shown by all the pupils involved, and, judging by the smiles today, their healthy creations were a huge success!
