Residential Trip | Year 10: Culture and Confidence in Sapa Valley

Our Year 10 pupils recently embarked on an inspiring journey to the mist-shrouded Sapa Valley for an experience centred on “Culture and Confidence.” Surrounded by breathtaking terraced fields and the towering Fansipan Peak, they embraced the challenge of stepping outside their everyday routines to develop real-world resilience. From navigating the rugged mountain terrain to conquering the final 600 steps to the “Roof of Indochina,” our pupils pushed their physical and mental limits.

The trip was a deep dive into the heart of Hmong culture. Staying in an authentic stilt-house homestay, pupils engaged in hands-on STEM challenges by engineering bamboo irrigation systems and mastered traditional cooking techniques using ingredients sourced directly from local markets. These moments provided a profound connection to the land and its people, fostering a genuine appreciation for sustainable living and cultural diversity.
