Empowering International Families through Language and Culture

It has been three months since our first “Vietnamese as a Second Language (VSL) for International Parents” class, and it is a pleasure to continue welcoming familiar faces to each session. Through familiar topics such as Family & Jobs, Shopping, Places in Town & Tết, Seasons & Weather, Daily Routine, Transport, and Illness & Healthy Living and more, parents practise meaningful language for authentic contexts in everyday life.

The lessons are also highly interactive and mirror pupils’ classroom experiences, enabling parents to gain a deeper understanding of Vietnamese language provision at school through role-play conversations, pair speaking tasks, sequencing drills and collaborative language games, all within a supportive environment where new learners feel confident experimenting with the language.

We hope these workshops foster meaningful cultural connections, helping international families engage more deeply with Vietnamese life and traditions while accompanying their child’s learning journey. We look forward to welcoming parents back in the new year for more engaging sessions.
